We use classic Côtes du Rhône ratios based on all the hard work/trial-and-error of the French (merci beaucoup Frenchies). From this you get fruity, floral Grenache at the forefront with our signature Heathcote Shiraz for spice and a bang of Mourvèdre backbone – an age-old winning combination.

‘A 55/30/15% blend matured in American and French oak. The moderately deep, bright crimson-purple hue doesn’t deceive: this is a very smart blend, with red fruits doing all the talking on the bouquet and medium-bodied palate. The tannins have good structure, and there is no alcohol-induced heat.’
In a classical harmony of varietals, this wine highlights floral notes from Grenache and the power of Shiraz together with the firm, earthy structure of Mourvèdre. A lush palate of sweet berries within a substantial body, provides a hint of raisin and soft spices, sharing characters with Christmas pudding. Single varietal ferments and optimal blending ratios specific to this vintage, along with the use of American and French oak, has supported the fine tannins within this unity of sweet red and black fruits.
55% Grenache,30% Shiraz, 15% Mourvèdre. 14.5% Alcohol.
